Rachael Ray is a well known American TV personality, who is also popular for being a businesswoman, author and celebrity cook. Rachael Ray is the host of the daily lifestyle and talk show which is named after herself, Rachael Ray.

In audition to that she also is the host for three other shows called 30 Minutes Meals, $40 a day and Rachael Ray’s Tasty Travels. All the aforementioned three TV shows are aired on the Food Network. Also, she is credited for hosting shows such as Rachael Ray's Week In A Day and even reality TV shows such as Rachael Ray’s Kids Cook-Off and Rachael vs Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off .

Rachael Ray has also been the author of numerous cookbooks which are based upon the concept of 30 minute meals. In the year 2006, Rachael Ray also launched the magazine called Every Day with Rachael Ray. Rachael Ray’s TV shows have helped her win three prestigious Daytime Emmy Awards.

Personal Life

Rachael Ray was born on August 25th 1968 as Rachael Sunday Ray, in Glens Falls in the state of New York. She is the daughter if James Claude Ray and Elsa Providenza Scuderi. Rachael Ray’s father is partly Scottish, French and Welsh while her mother is of Italian ancestry. At the age of 8, Rachael Ray and her family shifted to the state of New York in Lake George. It was in the Capital District of New York that Rachael Ray’s mother managed restaurants. Rachael Ray’s mother had even managed the Lake George Howard Johnson’s restaurant which is situated near the previous amusement park of Gaslight Village and it was the main attraction for various entertainers.

It was at Montalcino in the state of Tuscany in Italy that Rachael Ray got married to John Cusimano on September 24th 2005. John Cusimano is a reputed American lawyer and being a man of multiple talents he is also part of the rock band called The Cringe and was their lead singer.

Career

In the year 1995, Rachael Ray shifted to New York City and she began by working at the candy counter at well known supermarket chain Macy’s. She was later being promoted to a buyer in accessories she decided to move to a specialty foods store called Agata & Valentina. After a mugging experience, Rachael Ray decided to shift out of the city and not maintain a residence there.

While Rachael Ray went on to work at a string of supermarkets and restaurants, before she devised the concept of 30 minute meals, while working at the stores. Her show 30 Minute Meals was widely accepted by the audiences at the stores and soon WRGB which was locally affiliated by the CBS-TV wanted her to be a part of their newscasts by appearing once a week. Along with this, Ray was even entitled to a public broadcast and went on to publish her own book earned her a spot on the Today show and her first contract with Food Network in the year 2001.
