Leland Vittert is a Fox News Channel Correspondent and also a host for the show, America’s News Headquarters. Leland joined Fox in 2010 in Jerusalem as a correspondent for foreign affairs. Leland also hosts Happening Now, Fox and Friends and America’s Newsroom aside from his standard anchoring and news reporting duties.

Leland is often described to be a dapper gentleman and soft-spoken and has won Westword’s “Best Hair on a TV anchor” award in 2007. Leland has a sister, Liberty Vittert, who is a chef on television and specializes in the United States of America’s cuisine. She hosts her own television show, Liberty’s Great American Cookbook where she cooks predominantly American cuisine. Aside from being a cook, Liberty is a mathematics professor and an applied statistics professor in Scotland at the University of Glasgow.
Career
A graduate of Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Vittert also studied at the London School of Economics. Before joining as a correspondent for Fox News Channel, Vittert anchored for the KDVR-Tv in Colorado Denver (FOX 3) as a weekend news anchor. He was also a news reporter for WFTV- Tv in Florida at Orlando for ABC 9.
He has also worked in various different national news stations, which include KATV-TV of ABC 7 in Arkansas at Little Rock; the KNWA-TV of NBC 50 at Arkansas I Fayetteville and also at WMTV-TV of NBC 15 Wisconsin Madison. At an early stage in his career as a young reporter, Vittert was nominated for an Emmy for assisting in clearing a police officer’s record who had been incorrectly accused of rape.
The Freddie Gray riots, which happened in Baltimore was covered by Vittert gained him a lot of praise by many. As per a leading magazine, Vittert was applauded for making his mark by standing amongst the protesters, standing shoulder to shoulder with them facing the riot police, while he simultaneously interviewed the local residents and protesters who were victims of the fraud.
Vittert is also credited with uncovering the Mayor of Baltimore’s alleged orders to police to stand down and had made curt enquiries by making thorough interrogations with the lawmakers and various prominent public figures throughout the city of Baltimore.
Fast forward to 2010, Vittert arrived in the Middle East following the commencement of the Arab Spring. Vittert was among the few reporters who were at Tahrir Square in Cairo, reporting the current events subsequently on the night the President of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak left is presidency in 2011.
Vittert also travelled to Libyan the beginning of the Libyan war of Revolution, where he passed o live reports of Muammar Gaddafi’s counterattacks on the piece de resistance of Libya and later from the heavily defended and besieged city of Misurata.
Operation Pillar of Cloud, a 2012 operation of the state of Israel against Hamas was reported live by Vittert. He has also interviewed a failed Palestinian suicide bomber and the brother of an Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. In 2014 before returning to Washington D.C., Vittert covered Russia’s annexation of eastern Ukraine as Russian backed Militants had sieged the city of Luhansk.
