Personal Life
As per her biography, Vanessa Murdock took birth in Long Island in the United States of America; she also spent her early days there. She then shifted to Centre Moriches, which is a street named in memory of her great-grandparent.
Since childhood, she has been a family oriented person and enjoys spending time with them. Murdock holds a degree in meteorological studies from the acclaimed Penn State University located in Pennsylvania, later in 2005, she took up masters in meteorology from the same place. Vanessa was very clear from her young days as to what she wanted to take up as a profession.
Currently, Vanessa Murdock is married and lives in a town called North Bergen in New Jersey along with her husband and two lovely daughters. She leads a private life and keeps her family away from the limelight. When not shooting for the channel she spends time by just taking a stroll down the neighborhood, running, swimming or reading a good book while sipping on her favorite Vanilla Latte.
Career
Vanessa Murdock is popular across the globe as a weather forecaster on various networks in the American news network. She is one among the members of the American Meteorological Society and also of the National Weather Association. Soon after her graduation from Penn State University, she kick-started her career working a Broadcast Metrologist for the CBS network’s station in Charlottesville, WCAV, for her work she moved to Central Virginia.
This was followed by her appearance as an anchor who reported evening weather on FOX and ABC in Charlottesville, she continued this work for two years. In 2006, after shifting from Charlottesville Murdock began work with Viper Weather Team. The next five years saw her as a forecaster at the southeastern city of Virginia, Norfolk, for various communities across the Mid- Atlantic coastline in the CBS owned News Chanel 3.
While working at Norfolk in 2011, Vanessa reported the news about the destructive hurricane named ‘Hurricane Irene’ that washed away the Eastern Coasts of America and the Caribbean. The hurricane was estimated to create damages estimated at around fourteen billion American dollars and was listed as the ninth most deadly hurricanes to ever hit the American coastline. The site at central Virginia was that of fallen trees, flood and people running across trying to protect their families. Vanessa’s report of this great tragedy was highly praised by the people of the news industry.
Murdock has been nominated for the Emmy Awards under the category of New Reporting. Vanessa was keen on spreading her knowledge and experience in the field of metrology that she is passionate about and hence decided to take up teaching metrology in 2007 at the Virginia Wesleyan College, Virginia. Her journey as a weather reporter that started long back continues till date, she is presently the part of CBS2 HD and WCBS 880 news channels which she began in October of 2011.
