Sandra Smith is an American journalist and media personality. Sandra reports for Fox Business Network, and also co-hosts shows such as America's Newsroom and Outnumbered on its news channel.

Early Life

Sandra Smith was born in Chicago, Illinois, on the 22nd of September 1980. Sandra attended high school at the Wheaton Warrenville South High School, graduating in 1998. While at high school, Sandra was very active in sports, earning three letters in cross country. In her senior year, Sandra was cross country team captain earning two letters in track.

Sandra went on to attend college at Illinois State University. She later transferred to Louisiana State University, where she graduated with a degree in business management (minoring in speech). Her feats in sports also followed her to college, where she raced the mile in the indoor season, ran cross country and was involved in steeplechase races at the outdoor season.

Sandra is the last of six children, with four elder sisters and a brother.

Professional Career

After leaving Louisiana State University, Sandra launched her career at Aegis Capital Group, working as a research associate. Her job at Aegis Capital Group involved identifying unique investment opportunities, research and analysis of retail stocks and the preparation of weekly stock newsletters to clients. Sandra later left Aegis Capital Group and took up a position at Hermitage Capital Management, where she was responsible for preparing commission reports, executing US equities and carrying out portfolio analysis. She then moved on to work at Chicago’s Terra Nova Institutional taking up the position of Director of Institutional Sales and Trading. At the Terra Nova Institutional, Sandra was engaged in investment management.

After a successful streak in the financial industry, Smith moved to the media industry, taking up a role at Bloomberg Television as a reporter. In 2007, Sandra left Bloomberg, pitching her tent with newly founded network, FOX Business Channel. Her career at FOX grew rapidly, where she has become one of the favorite faces on the News network.

In 2016, Sandra together with Trish Regan achieved a first when they stood as moderators at two Republican presidential debates during the last US Presidential elections. They were the first all-female team in US history to moderate a debate.

Sandra belongs to the very few club of public personalities that have managed to stay away from any controversies.

Personal Life

Sandra married with her lover, John Connelly, in 2010. John is a business commentator, however, Unlike Sandra, not much is known about John. Sandra and John have two kids, a daughter, Cora Belle Connelly (born in 2013) and a son, John Connelly Jr. born in 2015.

Sandra has a remarkable follower-base on social media. She has about 26,000 followers on Facebook and more than a 100,000 followers on Twitter.
