Career

Though known for being an anchor, Lukas started off her career behind the scenes in New York City. Her first role was at WABC-TV where she worked as a desk assistant. She then made a move to Eyewitness News and worked in the morning show. This move in return gave Jackie an opening and she was able to land a job at WLNY TV 10/55 as a reporter. The station was based in Melville. While there, Lukas was the anchor of a weekly update show.

In 2006, Jackie left for News 12 team and there she made a name for herself covering a wide range of news. Jackie reported on breaking news that varied from high-profile crimes to other human-related stories. Some of the major stories that Jackie covered and got major review among viewers include the story on minor’s who were got in local bars drinking, a sex offender who dwelt in a daycare and the story she reported live on the crane crash that occurred in Manhattan. To date, Jackie is among the best journalist having gathered numerous Emmy Award nominations. She has been able to win the Deadline Club Award, Edward R. Murrow Award among other prestigious honors.
