Personal Life
The American golfer was born in Miami, Florida on October 12th 1977 and was named Brittany Grace Lincicome by her parents Tom and Linda Lincicome. In Kerr’s biography, her sibling’s names, if any, are not mentioned and further information of her personal life other than this are not disclosed. For her high school studies, Kerr schooled in her hometown of Miami and attended Miami Sunset High school.
Cristie’s dad, Tom was a sports personality and that influenced her decision to also become a sports personality. At age 8, Kerr officially begun her amateur career and was followed by success winning the Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship in 1994. In 1995, she also won the Women’s Western Amateur and was awarded the American Junior Golf Association Junior Player of the Year. Kerr had challenges with her weight in 1999 and that had adverse effects on her back but with constant exercise she was able to lose 23 kg by 2002 and she then weighed 57 kg.
In 2006, Cristie got married to Erik Stevens, a high rank business man after dating for two years. The two have been happily married ever since with no controversy revolving around their marriage. In 2013, the two welcomed their first child out of surrogacy and named him Mason. Kerr and her family dwell in their family home in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Career
Cristie’s career as aforementioned begun at a tender age of 8 playing amateur golf. Even as an amateur, Kerr took part in the Futures Tour in 1995 which was a professional tournament and won the Ironwood Futures Classic. When she graduated from high school, Cristie turned professional. She was 18 years then and participated in the Players West Tour and Futures Tour.
After turning professional, her start at the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) was rather slow as it took her three seasons to make it to the top fifty. Six seasons down her professional career in 2002, Cristie won her maiden LPGA at the Longs Drugs Challenge. The LPGA win steered her in the years that followed and she became a regular among the tour leaders
When not playing golf, Kerr is an active breast cancer advocate. She is involved in fundraising for her foundation, Birdies for Breast Cancer and she has been able to bring in donors such as Mutual of Omaha. Cristie herself donates $50 for every birdie she hits. Kerr back in 2005, made a guest appearance on an episode of Donald Trump’s TV show The Apprentice.
Cristie’s salary is not openly disclosed but with her years in the sport and her investment in wine production, she has been able to amass a net worth of $15 million. As an active member of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, Cristie has more than 50 thousand followers in all the social platforms.
