Personal life
Susan Tedeschi, the famous singer was born on 9th November, 1970 in the city of Boston, Massachusetts in an Italian descended family. She was raised by loving parents in a wealthy family in Norwell, Massachusetts, which was a few kilometers away from her birth place.
Surprisingly, Susan is the great-granddaughter of the famous founder of ‘Tedeschi Food Shops’, Angelo Tedeschi. Belonging to an opulent family, it wasn’t a strenuous task for young Susan to start her career in singing. She made her debut at a mere age of six in a Broadway musical. The talented Susan was always inclined towards music and this led to her forming her own band at the age of eighteen which she called ‘the Smokin’ Section’.
Susan Tedeschi is not only a gifted singer but also a learned one. She studied music and sang in a Gospel choir whilst attending the Berklee College of Music. Prior to her college days, Susan was a prominent singing figure in her school when she attended Norwell High School. After graduating from college with a degree in music and establishing herself as a successful musician, Susan fell in love and decided to marry guitarist Derek Trucks in the year 2001.
Derek Trucks used to lead his own b and ‘The Derek Trucks Band’. Susan and Derek first exchanged looks in New Orleans when they were both on tour. Currently, the couple has two children named Charles Khalil Trucks and Sophia Naima Trucks. The family happily resides in Jacksonville, Florida.
Career
Susan Tedeschi practiced her craft of singing and playing the guitar for years before she formed her own band called ‘Susan Tedeschi Band’ in the year 1993 which featured Adrienne Hayes and Tom Hanbridge. She was taught to play the guitar by famous musician Tim Gearan. He has influenced her life to a huge extent. ‘Susan Tedeschi Band’signed a contract with ‘Indy label Tone-Cool Records’.
Subsequently, they released a song’ Just Won’t Burn’ which featured Sean Costello and the song received positive reviews from the critics. Susan Tedeschi was asked to play on several occasions in 1999 during the ‘Lilith Fair’ festival which was organized by Sarah McLachlan. Susan toured the entire U.S. during 1998 to 1999 and gathered huge fan following.
In the year 2000, a solo album by Susan ‘Just Won’t Burn’ reached the Gold record status for 500,000 sales across the U.S.A., which is still considered to be something very rare for a blues production. Susan toured alongside ‘The Rolling Stones’ in the year 2003 and played in front of a vast number of people which gained her a lot of exposure.
An year later, Susan was featured on the television show ‘Austin City Limits’ and was highly appreciated for her performance. Susan Tedeschi has a net worth of $6 million. She has credit many famous personalities for her success which include the likes of Etta James, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Mahalia Jackson, etc.
