Norah comes from Irish ancestry, she was born on January 23, 1974 to a doctor named, Francis O’Donnell in Washington D.C. However, her family moved to San Antonio, Texas in the year 1977, hence she grew up there. Norah did her schooling from Douglas MacArthur High School and went to Georgetown University for pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and thereon pursued Master’s degree in Liberal Studies.

Norah’s entered the field of press and media though Roll Call, she was appointed as writer to cover the activities of congress. Her Career graph shot from the time when she joined NBC news as a chief correspondent from Washington, she was also a presenter for NBC News Today Show. Later from 2003 to 2005 she was assigned as a white house correspondent for the same channel. For MSNBC, she also worked as a rotating commentator on the show Weekend Today. Her other news broadcasts for the channel included The Today Show, Dateline NBC, NBC Nightly News etc. Co-hosting the St. Patrick’s Day Parade for the channel in the year 2007 also added to her achievements.

Her journalism career with CBS kicked off in the year 2011, where her very first assignment was being the Chief White house Correspondent. In the same year, she was also assigned the show ‘CBS Evening News,’ as an anchor and ‘Face of the nation’ as a fill-in-host and correspondent. She continues to do the two shows till date. However, soon in the year 2012, she was relieved of her duties of Chief White House Correspondent and taken in for a show ‘CBS This Morning’ as a co-host. O’ Donnell has a charming personality and beautiful features, she is talented as well as presentable before the cameras, hence , CBS gave her many opportunities to be a presenter on-screen.

Norah O’Donnell has been fairly renowned for her work and achievements. She was able to secure a place amongst Top 100 Powerful Women of Washington and was also listed in the Top 100 Irish Americans list of Irish American Magazine’s yearly edition of 2000. She has also been a recipient of Emmy Award in the year 2008 for her coverage of Election Night. In the year, 2001 O’Donnell covered a story, ‘’DC in Crisis,” for her show, ‘Dateline NBC.’ This coverage won her the Sigma Delta Chi Award for Breaking News.

Her interviewing of a Sarah Palin Supporter during a book singing , stranded her in the middle of heavy criticism from the conservative party supporters. Norah was also and limelight for pointing out racism from the comments of Newt Gingrich on Barack Obama during the Southern Republican Leadership conference.

Norah has quite a large fan base who follow her on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. She recognises the fact that without the audiences support she would not have achieved the success that she has today, hence she tries her best to keep her followers updated with recent updates about her shows.

Coming on to the personal front, Norah O’Donnell is married to Geoff Tracy and they live in Washington D.C. along with their three children. Her husband is the owner of D.C. restaurant, ‘Chef Geoff’s.’ Norah’s annual salary comes to be near about $4.5 million and her estimated net worth could go as high as $8 million.
