Val Edward Kilmer, a popular American actor at the present time, was born on 31st December in the year 1959. He drew the first breath in Los Angeles, California, where he was born in the family of Eugene and Gladys Kilmer. His father worked as a real estate developer and distributor of aerospace equipment. At first, Val Kilmer studied at the Christian Berkeley Hall School. However, he did not finish it, but continued his studies at the Chatsworth High School and the Hollywood Professional School. When the actor was just 17 years old, he was accepted to study in the Drama Division of the Julliard School, and thus he was the youngest actor to be accepted.

Career Experience

The actor’s career began at the Julliard School, where he was a co-author and a star in the “How It All Began” play. The play was performed a large number of times at the New York Shakespeare Festival. In 1983, the young actor received an offer to play a role in “The Outsiders” movie, yet he turned it down due to his business with theatre affairs. In the same year, however, he had a role in “The Slab Boys.” Then, he also debuted with the first acting role of his on TV in one of the episodes of the “ABC Afterschool Special”, an anthology series that had been filmed during 25 seasons.

In the same 1983, Val Kilmer published his poems under the title “My Edens After Burns”. However, the breakthrough in his acting career occurred in 1984, when the actor received an invitation in "Top Secret!”, a comedy movie. Then, Val Kilmer had sung all the songs in the film on his own and even released the album later. Furthermore, he also got a fame of a ladies man, apart from the prestige of a famous star. Thereafter, he went on to star in such movies like the “Real Genius” (1985) and “Top Gun” (1986), which made him famous worldwide. In 2015, he was taken to the hospital because of the tense bleeding in the throat. Later, there appeared the news that it was caused by a throat tumor, a type of cancer, which the actor refused to heal because of his religion prohibitions.
