With utmost sincere and hard work, Miguel, armed with his dedication was successful at securing a job as a reporter at the KCRA-Tv based out of Sacramento also in California. He further joined the ERC-TV in the city of Washington in D.C.

Miguel largely worked as a general assignment reporter while covering breaking news in the year of 2006. Further in the year of 2009, on the 2nd of April, Miguel was hired as Burbank, a news network affiliated to the NBC News which was based out of California to make reports for the network’s other divisions which happen to include the Today, NBC Nightly News and MSNBC. In the year of 2004, Miguel received the coveted Edward R. Murrow Award for Sport for reporting the regular sports news. He further earned an award in the year of 2007 for covering the San Diego wildfires. Not just that, Miguel also earned a National Award by the revolutionary National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
