Lindsay Czarniak born on November 7, 1977 at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania spent her early days in Northern Virginia. Her father, Chet Czarniak used to work in the sports department of a local newspaper. She was a sports enthusiast since childhood, having played lacrosse and field hockey at Centreville High School. She did her graduation in the year 2000 from James Madison University with a major in online journalism.

Career:

She started working as an intern for WUSA in Washington DC while she was still a student at college. She began her broadcasting career as a CNN production assistant. She had her first experience on the on-air role as a news reporter while working with WAWS in Jacksonville, Florida. She has also worked with the WTEV-TV, WTVJ in Miami, and Speed Channel.

In June 2005, she joined the NBC4 in Washington DC. She became the official co-host of “The George Michael Sports Machine” in September 2006. Her first major assignment as a reported was the coverage of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Her interest in sports landed her the assignment as a pit reported for TNT’s six-race Sprint Cup Series from Pocono to Chicago. She has the honor of being the first person to interview the team players of Washington Redskins following the murder of Sean Taylor.

She has also made guest appearances in various television shows such as “The Tiny Kornheiser Show.” She had the honor of throwing the first pitch at the Reading Phillies at Bowie Baysox doubleheader. Her online blogs during the Summer Olympics in Beijing are part of her job as a sportsdesk reporter for NBC. In June 2011, she left NBC4 to join ESPN as co-host of “SportsCenter.” She has the honor of being the first woman to host the coverage of ESPN/ABC’s 2013 Indianapolis 500. She has also hosted a half-hour show on women gymnasts, “Gymnastics on Oxygen.”

Her father Chet Czarniak is today the managing editor of usatoday.com. Her mother, Terri had a career as a principal at Rose Hill Elementary School in Alexandria, Virginia. She has only one brother, Andrew who is serving with the US Coast Guard.
