Personal Life

Cheryl Burton was born on the 25th of December in the year 1962 at the Provident Hospital, located in the city of Chicago, in the state of Illinois, in the country of the United States of America. In the year 1980, Cheryl Burton attended the Lindblom Technical High School as a student, previously it was known as Lindblom Math & Science Academy.

Later, she completed her graduation from the University of Illinois located at Champaign-Urbana, it was from here that she attained her bachelor degree in Biology and Psychology. Since then Cheryl Burton has been a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

From the year 1986 to the year 1995, Cheryl Burton was married to Jim Rose from ABC 7 network. Jim Rose had been dating Cheryl from her days of being a cheerleader for the Chicago Bears, he proposed to her in New Orleans with an engagement ring with a large diamond, he asked the question while they were on the President riverboat, which is sort of the pep rally party for the team of the Chicago Bears. it was on the night prior to Super Bowl XX.

Cheryl Burton had just finished dancing to a song with the Honey Bears, was sitting beside Jim Rose in a romantic setting under the moonlight, it was then that Jim pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked her. The timing of the proposal was key as well, as it coincided with the couple’s first date anniversary, which was at the Super Bown XIX party in the city of Chicago.

On the 23rd of April, in the year 2008, Cheryl along with 4 others in a series of five separate attacks, was wounded after a man punched all of them in the face or the head. The culprit was a 28-year-old man named, Gregory Perdue.

Cheryl Burton was knocked out by a fist blow to the back of her head. Initially, she believed it to be a bullet injury. The following few months, Cheryl suffered from headaches and CAT scans and X-Rays revealed no grave injuries. However, she was not granted justice, as the courts held Purdue not guilty and attributed his behaviour to Schizophrenia and he was sent to the State Department of Mental Health for treatment.

Career

From the year 1992, Cheryl Burton has been associated with the ABC 7 Chicago (WLS - TV) located in the city of Chicago, in the state of Illinois. Cheryl Burton is assigned to anchor the 5 p.m. news broadcast for the station, along with her fellow anchor Alan Krashesky. Later, at 7 p.m. Cheryl Burton hosts the news broadcast on WCIU-TV along with her co-host Hosea Sanders. Apart from these two slots of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Cheryl Burton also contributes actively to the 10 p.m. news broadcast.
