Personal Life

Charles Stanley was born as Charles Frazier Stanley on September 25, in the year 1932. Charles Stanley was born in Dry For, located in Pittsylvania County in Virginia. Shortly after Charles Stanley’s birth, his father passed away, in 9 months. He grew up in the region outskirts of Danville, in Dry Fork.

It was from the University of Richmond that Charles Stanley earned his bachelor’s degree and then went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary located in Fort Worth in Texas to earn his Masters of Divinity. Charles Stanley earned his theological degrees, Th.D and Th.M at the Luther Rice Seminary which can be found in Florida. Later on the Seminary as a whole was shifted to Georgia and is currently in Lithonia.

After Charles Stanley divorced Anna, his wife, in the year 2000, there was a small controversy at the Southern Baptist Convention. Earlier Charles Stanley had claimed that if he was divorced he would quit as the pastor, he was unwilling to believe that the separation would lead to divorce. The members of his church voted overwhelmingly to allow him to continue as the pastor only on the condition that he wouldn’t get married once again.

Charles Stanley has two children, a son and a daughter, Charles Stanley’s son, Andy Stanley works in the noble profession of God, as a pastor, near Alpharetta in Georgia at the North Point Community Church. Charles Stanley’s second child is a daughter, Becky. He often mentions her during his sermons.

Charles Stanley separated from his wife, Anna J. Stanley in the Spring of 1992. The couple filed for divorce on 22nd June,1993. The duo then agreed to make Anna amend the lawsuit to file for a legal separation and simultaneously seek for reconciliation.

However, this didn’t work and on 20th March, 1995 Anna legally filed for divorce. As a result of this the Moody Radio Network station of Atlanta (which was then known as WAFS) ensured that Charles Stanley’s broadcasted wasn’t aired as he was almost certainly going to divorce his wife and the chances of them reconciling were close to nil. The couple’s divorce papers were signed and filed on 16th of February in the year 200 and the judge granted them the same on May 11,2010. Recently, on the 10th of November,2014 Anna Johnson Stanley passed away.

Soon Charles Stanley began dabbling into Television shows and preachings via books that he wrote.
