Jessica was in charge of the finances of Jason and other matter of business. She was in charge of any stuff that Jason was not willing to handle. Even if they tried to mend their marriage when it failed, they were not able to do so and their marriage ended in divorce. It was because Jason was said to cheat on her with a former American Idol contestant named Brittany Kerr and a cheerleader named Charlotte Bobcats.
