Personal Life

Sidney Crosby was born on August 7th of the year 1987 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Troy Crosby and Trina Crosby. He spent his years growing up in a nearby town, Cole Harbour. His sister, Taylor Crosby, is younger than him. His father, Troy, was positioned as a goaltender for the Verdun Junior Canadiens in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and hence acted as a major inspiration to him. Sidney also admired Steve Yzerman while growing up and was an ardent fan of the Canadiens.

Sidney Crosby has been dating Kathy Leutner since the year 2008. They came across each other via some common friends and were immediately attracted to each other. Currently, they live together in his lavish villa on Grand Lake in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Kathy was born on December 13th 1987. She spent her childhood in Virginia. Her career in modelling took off at an early age of 17. Currently, she is quite a famous model and can be seen in various advertisements. Despite Sidney being very personal about his love life, it has been heard that they are engaged and will probably get married by the end of this year.

Career

Sidney started off in his basement alone playing hockey at the tender age of two and shot pucks into a net. He was only three when he started learning the art of skating. Crosby attended Astral Drive Junior High School in his teenage and was reported as an excellent student by his peers. He was transferred to Shattuck-Saint Mary’s in Faribault, Minnesota because of the school’s hockey program.

Crosby’s career faced a major drawback and came to a halt when he underwent a concussion after a hit while playing on ice in January 2011. He abstained from the rest of the 2010–11 NHL series, and it was assumed that he may suffer some problems post the concussion that might hold him back from making a comeback to hockey.

Following an extended recovery procedure, Crosby returned to the Penguins’ in November of the same year. He had hardly played for only fourteen days when he was once more forced to be on the sidelines due to recurring concussions. He again reappeared in March 2012. Crosby’s injuries made headlines and became a highly discussed public issue. All the speculation regarding Crosby’s injuries led to more effective safety measures toward the players’ safety under NFL.

Further, Crosby had to miss 12 more games in the 2012–13 NHL series, owing to his jaw injury. Despite a disfigured jaw, Crosby managed to successfully lead the season scoring 1.56 per match. Currently, it has been reported that his net worth can be approximated around thirty million dollars.
