Personal life

Sean Astin was born in the year 1971 on February 25 as Sean Patrick Duke. However, there was a major mess with his biological father when he was born. His mother's first marriage lasted for only 13 days and later, when Sean was a few years old, his mother got married to John Astin. The couple was in a relationship with each other for two long years before tying the knot. Though Astin was Sean’s step father, but still, the bond between them is very beautiful. The family bond shared by them was great even after his step brother, Mackenzie Astin was born. The two shared a very good bond despite the misunderstandings that arose between the patents.

However, leading to the misunderstandings, Duke and John Astin divorced in the year, 1985. After that, Duke got married to Mike Pearce in the year 1986. The couple later adopted a son and named him as Kevin in the year 1989. Sean belongs from the German and Irish ancestry through his mother, and shares an Austrian-Jewish and Polish-Jewish ancestry through his biological father. He went to a Catholic school where he raised voice against some religious affairs. He later became a Protestant by going to a Presbyterian church in Bel Air, located in Los Angeles.

Astin has later visited the Crossroads High School for pursuing Arts and further undertook master classes at the Stella Adler Conservatory in Los Angeles. Sean earned a graduation degree from the university of UCLA with a B.A. degree in History and English (American literature and culture). Due to his great results, Astin has got the chance to serve on the school's board of directors of the Patrons Association and the Arts Council. He has been married to Christine Harrell since the year 1992 after enjoying for many years of dating each other. Career

Sean Astin has earned a lot of success in his career. He stepped in the film industry in the year 1981 with the movie which was titled as, “Please Don't Hit Me, Mom”. In this movie, he has played the role of an 8-year-old child who was suffering from an abusive mother (it was completely based on his real-life mother Patty Duke). However, in the year 1985, at the age of 13 years only, he made his film debut in The Goonies.

The biggest turning point in his life was when he was signed for the The Lord of the Rings. He played the role of Samwise Gamgee in the television series. He appeared consequently in the three seasons of the television series. He has also several awards for his incredible role play in the The Lord of the Rings. He has achieved awards like Academy Awards, Saturn Award and Visual Effects Society Award. He also enjoys a high net worth which is almost in millions.
