Born in April on the 30th in the year 1980, Sam Roland Heughan is an actor of Scottish descent, known popularly for playing the role of Jamie Fraser in the Stars television series Outlander, which has earned him two nominations for the coveted Saturn Awards. Sam Has also been nominated in the past for the Most Promising Performer in the year 2003 for a stellar performance in Outlying Islands, a play that was conducted in the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs.

Personal Life

Born in Scotland at Balmaclellan in Dumfries and Galloway, Sam moved to New Galloway at the young age of 5 where he joined the Kells primary school. During this tenure, Sam lived in the stables which had undergone a conversion in the fields near Kenmure Castle. When Sam was 12 years old, he attended the James Gillespie High School for 1 year and then moved to Edinburgh’s Rudolph Stener School up until the end of six years.

Subsequently, after having sent about 2 years travelling and side by side working, Sam enrolled in the Royal Scottish Academy for Drama and Music (in Scotland near the Royal Conservatoire) in Glasgow, having graduated in the year 2003.

Career

While still studying as a student, Sam has appeared in a movie called the Outlying Islands which was a play by a Scottish playwright named David Greig. The play had premiered at Edinburgh in Scotland at the famous Traverse Theatre. It then moved to London’s Royal Court Theatre Upstairs. Eventually, Sam had been nominated for Laurence Oliver Award for the Most Promising Performer for his acting in this very famous play.

Further in 2004, Sam appeared in what was a miniseries, the Island at War, which was a WWII drama depicting the occupation of Channel Islands by the Germans. In the next year of 2005, Sam made appearances in various episodes of a Scottish soap opera called the River City. In the further years, Sam starred in various TV movies, predominantly A Very British Scandal in the year 2007 and Breaking the Mould in the year 2009. Sam also made guest appearances in various television series which include the Rebus, Party Animals and Midsomer Murders.

He also portrayed the role of Batman in the year 2012, in a stage tour show called Batman Live. During this series, Sam gained fame for providing assistance in making a citizen’s arrest. He also depicted the lead character Young Alexander the Great which had been filmed and produced in Egypt.
