At first, Chris McKendry studied at the Archbishop Ryan High School. After she completed her studies at the school, she got a scholarship for the active playing in tennis. Thus, she studied at the Drexel University at the beginning of the 1990s.

After graduating from the university, Chris McKendry entered the media business by getting employed by the WJLA-TV Channel.
