From his biography, Bobby Lee was born like Robert Lee Jr in the city of San Diego in California. His father is Robert Lee and his mother is Jeanie. He is an older son of two children and he went Poway High School at Poway in California. He was a wrestler while in high school. When he was 18 years old, he moved out of the home of his parents and started to work in coffee shops and restaurants. He attended the Palomar College for some time.
When he was 12 years old, he was using marijuana and meth. He went to rehab three times and his meth abuse ended when he was 17. When he was using drugs, he was competing in the wrestling tournaments and also won. When he started to work at Mad TV, the producer told him that he was not too funny and he will not get regulars jobs. Because of this, he suffered depression, he went back to the drugs and it ended the sobriety of 12 years. When he was fired from the TV for the second time, Lauren Dombrowski intervened for him.
When he was working in the coffee shop, it got closed and he went next door to ask for the job. It was the comedy store in the city of San Diego. It was called La Jolla Comedy Store. He was working there doing odd jobs and he decided that he can try out the standup comedy in the amateur nights. In a year, he started to do the comedy on regular basis and then he started to open for Carlos Mencia and Paul Shore. He got a regular job to work in a comedy club called The Comedy Store and the owner is Mitzi, the mother of Paul Shore.
Bobby Lee started the video podcast with a girlfriend called Khalyla Kuhn. It has now over 170,000 subscribers on the YouTube. The podcast talks about Asian American issues which are related to politics, racism, ethnicity, sexuality, adolescence and entertainment industry.
Eric Griffin and Bobby Lee had pitched the podcast for the All Things comedy and they got signed but they did not have enough time of meeting. Khalyla and Bobby were visiting the family in Philippines and she suffered a heart problem. She spent some weeks at the hospital and failed to go back to work in the nursing job. This is why she started a podcast to keep herself busy. Khalyla and Bobby are yet to be married.
