Anna Nordqvist is a professional golf player. She is a very popular player and has attended two major championships.

Personal life

Anna Nordqvist was born in the year 1987 on June 10. She grew up in Eskilstuna, Sweden to her parents and her siblings. Anna has received the inspiration of playing golf from both her parents. Both of them were very fond of golf but never considered it as their profession.

Anna has always received every kind of support from her parents and other family members to pursue her passion. She began learning golf early, at the age of seven years only. When Anna was in high school, she joined the golf team of her school. At the age of seventeen years only, Anna won the honour of the Swedish Junior Player of the Year. It was then when she decided that she want to become a golfer.

Career

Anna Nordqvist, after winning the title of Swedish Junior Player, also won several other honours like British Girls' Open Amateur Champion, Swedish Amateur of the Year, runner-up at the British Ladies Amateur and also the bronze medal at the European Championship. Anna went to the Arizona State University to pursue bachelor’s degree. She also attended the Pac-10 Championships and was awarded with the Pac-10 Player of the Year, National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Freshman of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honours.

Later, in the year 2007 and 2008, Anna attended the British Ladies Amateur Championships and became the runner-up. In the same year, she also appeared in the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament and in the next year, she made it to the Ladies European Tour Final Qualifying School. Anna’s career took a turn since the year 2009 and she came to be regarded as one of the professional golf players among the women.

When Anna secured the LPGA Championship tournament in Maryland, she topped the list of best players. Anna still considers this phase of her career as the best because it was her first ever step to the spotlight. Leading to the huge fame, Anna was selected as the captain for Solheim Cup. She also earned the title of Rookie of the Year when she participated in the LET championship and earned the runner-up position. She also won the LPGA Tour Championship earlier in the year.

Anna appeared opposite Caroline Hedwall in the Solheim Cup in the year 2013. She won the championship by defeating Jessica Korda and Morgan Pressel. Anna’s hole in one style became an history in the Solheim Cup. In the year 2015, she won the fifth season championship of the LPGA Tour. In the next year, she lost to Brittany Lang due to the violation of the rule. Anna won the The Evian Championship in the year 2017 in France. Anna became overwhelmed with the fame and honour she received after her performance in the championship.
