Alex Guarnaschelli is an executive chef at the Butter Restaurant in New York city and was the executive chef at The Darby before it closed down. She has done various TV series which is food based and she wrote cookbooks also and is a prominent celebrity chef.

Personal Life

Her original name was Alexandra Guarnaschelli and she was born on 20th June 1979 to parents John and Maria, her mother was a cookbook editor. She completed her studies at the Horace Mann School and then she went to the Barnard College in 1911. She developed a love for cooking by seeing her mother. Her love for food made her participate in the 5th season of Iron Chef America and she won the entire competition in 2012.

In 2007 she met her husband Brandon Clark and her marriage got solemnized to him. They both have a daughter named Ava. Till date she has been the only woman to get the award for this show.

Career

Alex grew her interest in food and cooking due to her mother who used to always ask her to help her with the various kitchen chores and leave her dolls and that is when she started growing interest in food. After this she went to France to study at La Varenne Culinary School in Burgundy and then she went to Paris to work at a Michelin star restaurant to get the feel for four days.

However, she turned out to be really good and had to stay back there for 4 years while working in La Butte Chailott and she got promoted as the sous chef there. After 7 years in France she came back to the US and joined Daniel Boulud at the restaurant Daniel and due to her proficiency, eve here she rose to the position of a sous chef of the Manhattan standard. She also worked at Joachim Spilchal’s Patina after this.

In 2003 she was given the chance to join the Butter Restaurant as the executive chef and she was free to create her own American menu here. She is a great inspiration for a lot of young chefs and along with this she is also an important part of the kitchen at Darby which opened in September 2010.

She won the Iron Chef America and then later appeared as a judge there and then hosted a show called The Cooking Loft. She is also a redundant judge at the food show called Chopped and also Chopped: Champions. In 2009, she launched her own daytime series also known as Alex’s Day Off. Her net worth is of $2 million and she is a very popular celebrity chef.
