Nikolaj Coster –Waldau is a screenwriter, a producer and an actor of Danish nationality. he finished his schooling at Danish National School of Theatre based on Copenhagen. His breakthrough role was in Nightwatch film. Afterwards, he appeared in A Thousand times Good Night and Headhunters.

When he relocated in US, the first film he was in was Black Hawk Down, a war film. He was playing as Gary Gordon, recipient of Medal of Honor. Afterwards, he played in New Amsterdam, a short-lived series that aired at Fox Television. He then appeared in the Virtuality in the role of Frank Pike. He became famous with the role he had in Game of Thrones, a HBO Series where he was Jaime Lannister.
Nikolaj Coster was born in the city of Rudkobing in Denmark. His father was Jorgen Oscar Fritzer and his mother is Hanne Soborg Coster. During interviews, he talked about the divorce of his parents and how his father had problems with alcohol. He was born with two sisters and he stayed with his mother most of the time. He was raised in the small village called Tybjerg found between Naestved and Ringsted villages. He was the youngest actor when he entered in Danish National School of Theatre and Contemporary Dance. He studied there since 1989 up to 1993.
Nikolaj Coster got married to a Greenlandic singer and actress called Nukaka. They are now living in Kongens Lungby with two daughters called Safina and Filippa. They have also two dogs. Filippa appeared in a Danish short film called The Girl and The Dogs and it was viewed at Cannes Films Festival of 2014. The father of his wife is called Josef Motzfeldt and he is a member of Greenland Parliament and he was a leader for Community of The People Party.
Nikolaj Coster supports Leeds United, an English Football club and he is Leeds United Supporter’s Trust member. In the year 2017, he got the contract of narrating a fairy tale for GivingTales, a storytelling app by celebrities to both adults and children. He will narrate a story of The SteadFast Tin Solider.
According to his biography, since 2003, Nikolaj Coster has been supporting Danish Red Cross. In the year 2016, he got appointed as the goodwill ambassador of UNDP to help in raising the support and awareness for United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This is an action aimed at ending the poverty, at fighting the inequality and stopping the climate change.
He participated in International Women’s Day in the year 2017, in Kenya while working for initiative for female empowerment. Afterwards, he urged the father to work towards the gender equality and to empowerment of women and talked about women who are living in extreme poverty or who may end up as victim of child marriage. In the year 2018, together with other artists from Denmark, they signed the manifesto that demanded no tolerance to sexual assault, sexual harassment and sexism in the Danish stage arts and film Industry.
