Early Life
Sara was born in the year 1970 in the United States. Sara is the daughter of Dr. Jane Eisen and Dr. Drore Eisen. Her father is the founder of CDx Diagnostics, a laboratory specializing in cancer research and her mother worked as a pediatric dentist. She did her schooling in Medhill school and finished her graduation in television reporting and business coverage from the University of New York. She did her masters in broadcast journalism at the University of Northwestern.
Career in Television
Sara Eisen began her career in the media with Forex TV. Forex TV was a local news channel. After a short brief with Forex TV, she moved on to the famous Bloomberg Television. At Bloomberg TV, Sara was an anchor and a financial reporter. She was widely known after co-anchoring the ‘Bloomberg Surveillance’, a television program that gives insights on the top stories from the world of business and presents insights into the markets.
Her stint in Bloomberg didn’t stop just with that. She was a correspondent of the television covering macroeconomics, policy, and business. She has also covered topics like the European debt crisis, the tsunami aftermath, and the Japanese nuclear crisis of Fukushima. She has also worked for Bloomberg radio with the program, ‘On the Economy’.
After a five-year stint at Bloomberg, Sarah Eisen joined CNBC in December 2013. At CNBC, she is a correspondent focusing on the global consumer. She’s also the co-anchor of the famous program ‘Squawk on the street’ that provides major market news from the New York Stock Exchange. She has even co-anchored the program ‘Worldwide Exchange’, that interviews political and economic personalities across the world.
Currently, CNBC has appointed her to host ‘Power Lunch’ that talks about how money can be made in real estate and in stock markets.
Author of Currencies after the crash
Sarah Eisen wrote a collection of essays and published it as a book in 2012 called the ‘Currencies After the Crash: The Uncertain Future of the Global Paper-Based Currency System’. It gives insight into how countries use their currencies to gain prosperity and the problems that it could create. For the book, she hand-picked authors from prominent institutions to shed light on the complex global financial system. It talks about the relationship between currencies and financial crisis, flaws with the international exchange rate system, impact of exchange rates of free trades etc.
Married Life
The Marriage of Sara Eisen and Matthew Levine took place on May 29, 2016, in Brooklyn. The couple met each other in 2011 while working at Bloomberg Television. Matthew Levine is the Head of US Programming, Bloomberg Television. Sarah Eisen gave birth to the couple’s first child, a son, earlier this year.
