Personal life
Katie Lee or Katherine Lee was born in the year 1981 on September 14. She has grew up in Milton, West Virginia and later shifted to Huntington, West Virginia in the United States. Lee was interested towards cuisine and possessed culinary skills from her early teenage years. She always wanted to be a chef in the future. Lee pursued her bachelor’s degree in journalism and food science.
She has attended the Miami University to complete her graduation degree. During her university days, she was also engaged with the Kappa Alpha Theta. Later, she went to The British Institute in Florence, Italy to complete her semester. Lee was always good in studies and that is the reason she never faced too much hurdles in her career.
Moreover, she never gave up on her passion for cooking. When Lee went to the New York City for her vacation, she met her husband, Billy Joel. The couple dated each other for a year and after that, tied the knot of marriage. The marriage ceremony took place in Oyster Bay, Long Island at Billy’s home in the year 2004.
However, the marriage did not go for long and the couple separated after five years of their marriage, in the year 2009. According to the latest news, Lee has got engaged to the famous television producer, Ryan Biegel. The engagement ceremony was organised at the La Réserve Paris Hotel and Spa.
Career
Katie Lee, after completing her graduation degree from the university, worked in many restaurants and cafes to gain experience in the similar field. Lee used to do a lot of cooking experiments with fish and has also contributed as a host to Jeff and Eddy’s Restaurant.
However, she has always wanted to create her own identity in this path other than just working for someone. This never ending zeal in her led her to launch her own foodie website. Lee named it as OliveAndPeach.com. She also had a partner with her while launching the website. Unfortunately, their partnership did not work for long and thus, the website stopped responding. Though the channel was active only for an year, she received a lot of recognitions for her work.
Due to Lee’s popularity, she was approached by the Bravo's Top Chef. However, she was negatively criticised for her appearance in the show. Lee was later brought back to the show Top Chef All Stars as a judge. In the year 2009, she launched her own cookbook The Comfort Table. In the same year, she launched the second cookbook, The Comfort Table with Simon & Schuster.
In the year 2011, Lee went further to release her own novel, Groundswell. Lee has made numerous television appearances. She has contributed to the The Early Show as a lifestyle and food correspondent. She was also seen in many magazines and popular news journals as the popular face.
