Moder is a native of Los Angeles, California born in January 31st 1969 to producer parents Mike and Patricia Ann Watz Moder, having four siblings named: John, Jane, Debbie, and Jyl. In 1987, he graduated Saint Monica High School before joining the University of Colorado - Boulder and later graduating with a Psychology degree in 1992.

Moder is currently married to actor Julia Roberts and they met on set of her film The Mexican in 2000 and began dating eventually tying the knot in 2002 and have been together since. Together they have three children, first born children being twins Phinnaeus Walter Moder and Hazel Patricia Moder who were born in 2004 and their third born child Henry Daniel Moder who was born 2007 June.

Before marrying Julia Roberts, Moders’ personal life was under scrutiny having previously been married to Vera Steimberg between 1999 and 2002 and later divorced. It has recently been rumored that the marriage of Moder and Julia Roberts is on the verge of collapse due to allegedly her controlling ways, their differing approaches to parenting, and Moders desire to have his own career among other issues. Moder is surfing enthusiast and enjoys travelling to places to enjoy his thrill of surfing. He is not active user of Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

Career

Daniel Moder is among the most successful cameramen and is also a cinematographer. Moder started his filming career as an Assistant in the production department in 1995 for the action movie 'Crimson Tide'. Later in 1996, he put in work in the electrical and camera Departments on the set of films such as Enemy of the State, The brave, and The Brave among others .

He first ever start in the cinematographic field was in the short comedy film Kid Quick, and he has gone on to carve out his name in the movie industry with his notable work coming in movies such as; Jesus Henry Christ, The Hit, Border, Grand Champion, Fireflies in the Garden, Normal Heart Highland Park and Secret in Their Eyes among other films in Hollywood.

Moder also has credit to his name for his work in the electrical and camera departments for Spiderman 3, Friends with Money, Mona Lisa Smile, Full Frontal and the Mexican. Daniel Moder is yet to win any awards to date but has received nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for his outstanding work in the movie 'The Normal Heart'.
