After spending a very simple life, Yvonne Payne initiated her career in writing when she went to visit the small hidden village located in the countryside of the island Crete, named Kritsa. She received inspiration to write her debut novel, named ‘Kritsotopoula: Girl of Kritsa” after spending a week at the Greek island, Crete and that’s what changed her life. The story of the girl who fought the oppression by Ottoman in the year of 1823 was the story that made her write the book in the first place. The girl became her muse after she met with the local, Nigel Ratcliffe, who was an English sculptor and shifted to the village of Kritsa to make a monument made out of stone dedicated to Kritsotopoula.

Page fell in love with the place and she herself bought a small house there to spend her vacations with her family. After returning, she wanted the world to know about the beautiful girl who led the revolution against the Ottoman Empire and she wanted everyone to appreciate the beauty of the Greek landscapes. The book was released in the year 2015 and it was very well received by the audience as the mystical story enchanted the normal audience. Yvonne is currently looking forward to buying more property in Crete and write more books about their traditions and cultures while spending her time there with her family. Her net worth is still not revealed.
