Sandra Miju Oh was born on July 20, 1971, in Ontario, Canada. Her father Joon-Soo and mother Young-Nan emigrated from South Korea to study financial matters and organic chemistry. Her folks put her in artful dance at 4 years old in hopes of rectifying her pigeon-toed step, a move that had the unintended results of starting an affection for performing. At age 10, Oh appeared in her first play, The Canada Goose. By the age of 15, the student started booking professional gigs in TV, theater, and commercials.

In April 2018, Oh reemerged on the TV screen in BBC America's Killing Eve. Based on Luke Jennings' Codename Villanelle novellas, the series featured Oh as British knowledge operator Eve Polastri, who ends up fixated on hunting professional killer Villanelle, played by Jodie Comer. Killing Eve intrigued its crowd, with The New York Times calling it a great new show.
In September 2019, at the 2019 Emmy Awards show, Sandra was nominated for the Lead Actress in a Drama Series because of her performance on Killing Eve.
