Russell Wilson was born as Russell Carrington Wilson on the 29th of November in the year 1988. Russell Wilson was born in the city of Cincinnati at The Christ Hospital and later on he shifted to the city of Richmond, located in the state of Virginia. Russell Wilson’s father, a man named, Harrison Benjamin Wilson III is a lawyer by profession and Russell Wilson’s mother a woman named, Tammy Wilson, is a Legal Nurse Consultant by profession. Russell Wilson has two siblings, an older brother named Harrison Benjamin Wilson IV and a sister named Anna Wilson, who is younger to him.
It was at the age of 4, that Russell Wilson began playing the sport of American football and he started by playing with his brother and his father. Russell Wilson played the first organised match of his career when he represented the youth football team of Tuckahoe Tomahawks. Russell Wilson was in the 6th grade when he represented them.
The entire Wilson family has been into sports, especially basketball, baseball and football. Russell Wilson’s father was also a football player and even excelled at baseball while he was at Dartmouth. He was even the wide receiver while he represented the preseason team of 1980 for the San Diego Chargers. While Russell Wilson’s older brother also played the same sports as their father, Baseball and Football, while he was at the University of Richmond. Russell Wilson’s sister Anna is a basketball player at Stanford. Much like his siblings Russell Wilson too played Basketball and Baseball for the collegiate teams, in addition to playing Football.
Russell Wilson went to the Collegiate School located in the city of Richmond, in the state of Virginia. In the year 2005, Russell Wilson was crowned the all-region, all-district & all-state player. He was awarded the Richmond Times-Dispatch Player of the Year twice back then.
Later, in the year 2006, he was crowned the all state and all conference player, in addition to which he was also named the conference player of the year. For this feat, Russell Wilson was also featured in the popular magician called Sports Illustrated. Honouring his state championship game victory and his performance in it.
Russell Wilson was chosen by the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL Draft of the year 2012, at the time he was tied in a record set by Peyton Manning of the most passing touchdowns by a rookie, which were 26, that year he was even crowned the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year.
Russell lead the Seahawks to their maiden Super Bowl victory by winning over the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl XLVIII. Later the next year, in 2014, they repeated the feat.
On the 31st of July, in the year 2015, Wilson inked a 4 year deal worth 87.6 Million USD with the Seattle Seahawks, to extend his contract and thus making him the second most paid NFL Player.
