Marc Murphy was born in the year 1987 and he is an Australian rules footballer. He is playing for the Carlton Football club under Australian Football League, AFL. He got recruited for the first time in the 2005 AFL draft and he worked as the captain to Carlton from the year 2013 Season. His father is called John Murphy. Murphy went to White Friars College found in Donvale. He played under Beverly Hills Junior Football club found at Doncaster Football club.

Before, he played for TAC Cup football under OakLeigh Chargers. He helped the Vic Metro to become Victorious when he played in the AFL Under 18 Championship of 2005. He won over Larke Medal and he was the best player for the tournament. His father called John Murphy is found in Hall of fame since he was a legend for Fitzroy Football Club. It was agreed that he should join the Brisbane Lions, using the father-son rule. However, he had an option of refusing the offer and decided to enter the 2005 AFL National draft instead. He was chosen to join the draft with the overall draft pick and he had a priority pick.

From his biography, Marc Murphy made the AFL Debut in the year 2006. He had a quality performance on the debut and this helped him to get the nomination for the NAB AFL Rising star award. He had been able to impress the pundits within the first season and he became the favorite in the NAB AFL Rising star award. In the same year, he got a shoulder injury and it ended the chance of getting the award. In the same year, he got voted by the peers and he became the winner of the AFL Players Association Best First Year Player Award. He was the person with more assist in the Carlton Football Club and this was despite of having played twelve games alone.

Marc Murphy celebrated the 200th game played against the Hawthorn Football club in the year 2015. Even if the blues got beaten, Marc was able to get high mark of disposal at 37. Marc did finish the second in blues Best and Fariest. He was voted to be the second after Partic Cripps.

When the new coach called Brendon Bolton joined Carlton, it was believed that Marc may lose the captaincy of the club since the coach said that there will be reset which included the leadership. In the year 2016, he got appointed again as the club captain and it was for the 4th season. The campaign was going on well but in the end, he suffered the injury. After recovery, he come back and did his best. Marc Murphy is married to Jessie Haberman, who is a blogger. They had been in a relationship for a long period and they were expecting their first child.
