Lisa Michelle Bonet was born on November 16, 1967 in San Francisco, CA. Her mom, Arlene was a music educator, and her father, Allen was an opera singer. Lisa went to Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, California. She then went to the Celluloid Actor's Studio in North Hollywood where she studied acting.
Lisa Bonet became a star when she played the role of Denise Huxtable on the sitcom, The Cosby Show. In 1987, Bonet temporarily left The Cosby Show to star in the spin-off series A Different World, which concentrated on Denise's life at school. In the same year, Bonet appeared in the role of 17-year-old Epiphany Proudfoot in the film Angel Heart inverse Mickey Rourke, directed by Alan Parker.
Subsequent to declaring her pregnancy during the run of A Different World, Bonet left the series. The next year, Bonet came back to The Cosby Show, yet was terminated in April 1991 in view of creative contrasts. After The Cosby Show, she started to take up occupations on direct to video discharges and made-for-TV films.
In 1998, Bonet had a supporting role in Enemy of the State with Will Smith. In 2000, she appeared in the film High Fidelity. In 2003, she assumed the role of Queenie in Biker Boyz, which rejoined her with former co-star Kadeem Hardison of A Different World. She co-featured in the film Whitepaddy in 2006, nearby Hill Harper, Sherilyn Fenn, Karen Black, Debra Wilson, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Lisa Bonet was first married to a musician, Lenny Kravitz in 1987. They had a daughter named Zoe Kravitz, she grew up to become an actress like her mother. Bonet and Kravitz split up six years later in 1993.
In 2017, Lisa Bonet married actor, Jason Momoa. They ended up having two children during their marriage. Their daughter, Lola Iolani Momoa was born on July 23, 2007. Their son, Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa was born on December 15, 2008.
In the summer of 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic, Jason Momoa came up with a surprise for Lisa Bonet. He shocked his significant other by restoring her car, a 1965 Ford Mustang. The actor recorded his gift in a YouTube video named, "My Wife's First Mustang." He called the vehicle, which Bonet purchased when she was 17, her first love.
