Laura Deibel is known for being the first wife of the television personality Tim Allen. Tim Allen is an American actor and comedian best known for playing Tim "The Toolman" Taylor on the ABC situational comedy Home Improvement. Home Improvement aired on ABC from September 17, 1991 to May 25, 1999; there were more than two hundred half-hour episodes of Home Improvement and the show was broadcast for eight seasons. Laura Deibel was born on November 12, 1956.
Laura Deibel and Tim Allen were college sweethearts (Western Michigan University) and she is known to have been a loyal girlfriend and highly supportive of the actor during his early days as a stand-up comedian. Laura stayed with Allen even after he was arrested, in 1978, at the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport with more than six hundred grams of cocaine.
Facing life imprisonment, Allen pleaded out and served two years and four months in prison. Laura Deibel married Tim Allen on April 7, 1984. The couple has one daughter, Katherine Allen, born in 1989. The Allen’s were legally separated in 1999 and the divorce was finalized in 2003. Tim Allen has said that career ambitions caused him to let his family slide.
