Katharine “Katy“ Bear Tur was born on October 26, 1983, in Los Angeles, California. She is an American broadcast journalist and news correspondent who worked for many channels including “WPIX-TV”, “News 12 Brooklyn”, and “ NBC News”. Tur works as an anchor at “MSNBC Live”, and she reports for many NBC news platforms like “Early Today”, “Today”, “NBC Nightly News”, “Meet the Press”, “WNBC-TV”, “MSNBC”, and “The Weather Channel”.

Her parents, Hanna Zoey Tur and Marika Gerrard, are both journalists. She graduated from Brentwood School in 2001, and then she studied at the “University of California”, “Santa Barbara”, from where she graduated in 2005 with a BA in Philosophy.
Tur worked as a storm chaser for “The Weather Channel”. In 2009, Katy joined “NBC News” at NBC’s flagship station, “WNBC-TV”.
From 2012 to the present day, she’s working as a correspondent for shows like “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt”, “Today” and “Weekend Weekend Today”.
In 2013 she covered the news of the death of Cory Monteith, the Canadian musician and actor mostly known for his role of “Finn Hudson” in the TV series “Glee”.

In September 2017, Tur published the book “Unbelievable: My Front-Row Seat to the Craziest Campaign in American History”, in which she talks about her experience in covering the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump.
She resides in New York City, and we got to know about her private life that one of her previous relationships has been the involvement with Keith Olbermann, from 2006 to 2009. Katy Tur is not yet married, but she got engaged in January 2017 to Tony Dokoupil, the correspondent for CBS News.
