Jussie Smollett was born in the year 1982 and he is an American director, photographer, singer and actor. He started the career when he was a child actor in the year 1987 and he was staring in the films and commercials. This included The Mighty Ducks and North or Rob Reiner. He got attention and got better reviews when he portrayed Jamal Lyon, a musician at Fox Drama Series called Empire. He did appear in the Alien: Covenant a science fiction of Ridley Scott. He was Langston Hughes in Marshall.

Smollett was born in the city of Santa Rosa, in California. His mother is Janet and his father is Joel Smollett. He was born with two sisters and two brothers. They are Jazz, Jurnee, Jojo, Jocqui and Jake and some of them area actors. The father is a Jewish and the family comes in USA from Poland and Russia. The mother is an African-American.

He appeared together with his real life siblings in On Our Own, a short lived sitcom at ABC. In the year 2012, he returned in acting when he got the leading role for an LGBT themed drama and comedy of Patrik-Ian Polk. The drama was called The Skinny. During that year, he was able to release the EP album that had the title, the Poisoned Hearts Club. Afterwards, he was the guest star at The Mindy project and in Revenge.

In the year 2014, he was the cast for the Jamal Lyon; it is a gay musician who was struggling to get the approval of the father. It was together with Taraji P Henson and of Terrence Howard for the Empire Fox Drama. The role he had, become the groundbreaking for the positive depiction for black gay man at the television. He continued in the same role in the following season and he directed a positive episode for the fourth season of 2017.

From his biography, Jussie Smollett confirmed that he did sign the recording contract under Columbia Records and he would be releasing his own album in future. He is the co-writer of a song called I wanna Love You with you’re so Beautiful found on the Original Soundtrack of Empire season one. He was the guest star for the show of her younger sister called Jurnee Smollett. The show is called Underground.

When it comes to his relationship, Jussie Smollett say that he is a gay and he announced it during the interview of Ellen DeGeneres. When asked how he views himself, he says that he is a gay but when he meets with the right woman, he can still love her. His character in Empire has the same view with him since he shows this sexual fluidity when he had fallen in love with a woman, while at the same time he was viewed as a gay.
