Jozy is a pro soccer player who is currently drafted as a striker for Toronto FC. Jozy represents the United States of America. Jozy has also been a part of the Villarreal Club de Fútbol, S.A.D and the Hull City Tigers. In 2013 Jozy joined the English professional football club, Sunderland in 2013 and played with them for two seasons.

Personal Life:

Born in Livingston, New Jersey, United States to a Haitian-American family on November 6, 1989, Jozy has four siblings and he is the youngest amongst them. Jozy was raised by his father Joseph Altidore and mother Giselle Altidore in Boca Raton, Florida.

When Jozy was playing for AZ he met Illiana Blackshear whom he has been dating since 2011. The couple has preserved their relationship very well since 2011, without any speculations about external affairs. Jozy completed college from Passaic Community College in New Jersey. Jozy also has a philanthropic side to his personality.

After the Haiti earthquake in 2010, Jozy endorsed the charitable organization Yéle Haiti and urged upon people to donate money for the ongoing rescue efforts. He also paid homage to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims by writing their initials on his boots during a match against FC Twente.

Career:

To boost his career Jozy joined the IMG soccer academy. He was associated with the academy for two years before participating in Pro Soccer. In 2006, Jozy made his debut in pro soccer representing the New York Red Bulls. His netted his first goal on September 16, 2006, in a match against Columbus Crew. After his great performance with the New York Red Bulls, Jozy was drafted by Villarreal FC for an amount of $10 million.

During that period it was the highest amount paid to an MLS player. While playing with Villarreal FC he netted a goal against Athletic Bilbao and became the first ever American to have scored a goal in La Liga. After playing for one season in Villarreal he moved over to Xerez in January 2009.

While training with the Xerez team he suffered an injury and was never able to represent them in any match. After recovering from his injury he switched to English Hull city and played a season for them. Jozy’s has a positive international carrier as well. He has scored 4 goals in the FIFA world cup in 2007. Currently, he is in the gold cup squad alongside Kellyn Acosta and Omar Gonzalez. Altidore’s current net worth is around $8 million.
