Personal Life

John Travolta’s full name is John Joseph Travolta and he was born on February 18, in 1954 in Eaglewood, New Jersey. He was born and raised here. His mother is an Irish American and name is Helen Cecilia who was also a singer and an actress and his father is Salvatore Travolta, an Italian American, who used to be a Professional American Football Player after he retired he worked as a salesman and had a partnership with a tire company. He has five other siblings and he is the youngest of the six-member. He was raised in an Irish Culture and was a Christian until he converted in 1975 Scientology.

John Travolta’s height is 1.83 m. He dropped out of High School at the age of 17, when he attended Dwight Morrow High School in 1971. He got married in 1991 to Kelly Preston and lived in Maine. They have three children named Jett Travolta, Ella Bleu and Benjamin Travolta.

Sadly, his eldest son Jett died during a Christmas vacation in the Bahamas at the age of 16 due to a seizure he had, he had been prone to have them since at the age of only two years old. Travolta is also a pilot with a license and even owns an aircraft. He had also written a book called Propeller One Way Night Coach, which was about a young boy who had his first flight ever and his experiences.

Career

Travolta’s career began after he had dropped out of his High School and moved to New York and lands a role in a musical, Broadway called Grease and Over Here and also sang in his part. For the pursuit of having a bigger career, he then moved to Los Angeles. He got his first film career in 1972, in a film called Emergency and had a role as one of the victims. He enacted the role of a bully in a film called Carrie when he was only 19 years old.

In 1976, he released a single called Let her In that had a spot as number 10 on the Billboard. His first nomination for an Academy Award came from his roles in Saturday Night Fever which was made in the year 1977. John even had a role in a sci-fi movie called Battlefield Earth in which he got the role as an alien leader in 2000, he even co-produced the film.

During 2000’s, the actor appeared in several films called Swordfish, Bolt, Wild Hogs, Ladder 49, etc. In 2007, since his first musical role in Grease, he got the role of Edna Turnblad in a musical remake called Hairspray. He also had played a role in American Crime Story in 2016, as a lawyer named Robert Shapiro. He has a huge earning and incomes from his successful career and had an estimated net worth of about $160 million.
