Personal life

41 years ago, on 2nd July 1976, Erin was born in the state of Maryland, Mardela Springs county in the USA to Kenneth and Esther Burnett as their youngest daughter. Erin schooled at St. Andrews, a privately-owned boarding academy in the Delaware city of Middletown finishing in 1994. She later joined the Williams College in the Massachusetts town of Williamson to pursue and graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in the field of economics and political science.

Erin is currently married to husband David Rubulotta whom she met in 2003 and later, got married in winter of 2012 December 21st. together with the husband Erin has 2 children named Nyle Thomas and Colby Isabelle and recently she made an announcement about her personal life that she is expecting her third child with her husband David.

Career

Erin began her flourishing career as an analyst in the finance department at Goldman Sachs a New York based financial institution before being offered an opportunity to hold two positions with CNN as a booker and writer for tv show Money Line.

Soon after she left her analyst position and joined Citi Group a digital media company to become the vice president. Not one to stay long at her jobs she moved to Bloomberg Television the New York based television station working as a broadcaster and the stocks editor. For six years after leaving Bloomberg she worked for CNBC as host for business show ‘Street Signs’ and was also the co-news anchor for the show ‘Squawk on The Street’ Mark Haines.

While working for CNBC Erin did a lot of documentaries including; Big Money in the Middle East, The Russian gamble, Dollars and Danger; Africa but her most explosive work was an investigative piece on Transammonia an international trade organization in 2010 which launched her into public limelight for her outstanding journalism earning herself an Emmy award nomination.

In 2011 October 2nd, Atlanta based television station CNN came calling and Erin moved after 5 successful years with CNBC. She landed her own prime time show dubbed Erin Burnett Out front which airs live from the New York station of CNN. Her live show has enabled Erin to broadcast from across the continent in countries like; Israel, Afghanistan, China among other nations.

Erin has courted some controversy in her work with accusations of biasness and lack of objectivity in her reporting especially from a section of the Occupy Wall Street protesters and this was allegedly connected to her preceding work on wall street as well as her husband being an executive in Wall Street’s major players. Erin is estimated to have a net worth of $ 12 million and earns almost $3 million per year from her employer CNN.
