Personal Life
Currently standing at 6 feet 8 inches, Clark Kellog was born in Cleveland, Ohio on 2nd of July 1961 year. In his biography, details of his close family are left out. It is however documented that Clark went to Chambers Elementary and was also enrolled at St. Joseph High School. Kellog’s interest in basketball developed during his high school day and he represented the school in the sport. He left a record of 51 points in a game at the school. He also competed in the Capital Classic games and McDonalds’s All-American.
After graduation from high school, Clark joined Ohio State University in 1979 and studied while playing basketball until 1982. His impressive performance continued and he was awarded the Most Valuable Player and All-Big Ten honors. At the university, Kellog was studying marketing and he earned his degree in 1996. He discontinued his studies when he was drafted in the NBA and later went back to finish his degree course.
A year after joining the NBA, Kellog got married to Rosy. Since they tied the knot in 1983, the couple has welcomed three children; Nick, Alex and Talisa. Two of Clark’s three children have his athletic gene as Nick also played basketball at Ohio State University and Talisa played volleyball while at Georgia Tech.
Career
Playing the small forward position on the court, Clark in 1982, after his junior year at Ohio University, made the cut for NBA draft. He was selected first by the Indiana pacers and was the 8th selection overall. Clark started off his NBA career impressively making the NBA All-Rookie Team. To date, Clark is among the very few NBA players to average 20 points in a game as a rookie. He was hailed as the next big thing in NBA.
In his prime years, Clark went by the name “Special K”. He even had sneakers named after him through his endorsement deal with Converse. Clark’s career, though quite promising, was short lived as he was only able to play four seasons with the Pacers. At age 25, Clark suffered chronic knee injuries and was forced to retire in 1986.
The many injuries took Kellog to a self-reflecting path that changed his life and he realized that there was more to life than just basketball. Three knee surgeries were enough to raise Kellog’s antennae to a high being. With his wife by his side, Kellog was able to dive deeper into God’s word and he got saved in 1986.
After retiring from the NBA, Kellog began working for ESPN as an analyst. Over the years he has been able to work with Big East Sports. Currently at CBS Sports he covers commentary on college basketball. From his NBA career, endorsements and commentary roles, Clark has amassed a net worth 2 milli0n dollars.
