Robert John Odenkirk popularly known as Bob Odenkirk is a renowned American actor, producer, writer, comedian, and director. He is most popularly known amongst the masses for his performance in the popular television sitcoms Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. In both the sitcoms, he has played the role of a glib talking lawyer.
Bob was born in Illinois, the USA on 22nd October to Walter and Barbara Odenkirk. He was one of the seven children fathered by Walter who was into the printing business. Bob’s parents divorced soon later due to his father’s binge drinking habit. Bob's father eventually succumbed to bone cancer in 1995. Bob completed his schooling from the Naperville High School in Naperville, Illinois.
He attended college at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. While in college he burnished his skills as a comedian by hosting live shows on college radios. One of Bob’s brother, Bill Odenkirk is a producer and writer on “The Simpsons”. Bob is married to Naomi Odenkirk since 1997. Noami is a well-known producer. The couple has two children together. Before marrying Noami, Bob was dating Janeane Garafalo who is a popular American comedian.
Bob’s kick-started his career with WIDB where he hosted the popular comedy show “The Prime Time Special”. From 1991 to 1987 he has also worked as a writer for the show Saturday Night Live. In the 80’s he has worked as a scriptwriter for many popular television shows live The Ben Stiller Show, The Dennis Miller Show, Conan O’Brien etc. Bob has also played many roles in films like Wayne’s World 2, The Cable Guy, Can’t Stop Dancing, Monkeybone. His best performance till date was in the popular TV series “Breaking Bad” which was aired from 2009 to 2013.
In “Breaking Bad” he played the role of a smooth-talking lawyer and has received many accolades for his performance. Since 2015 he is busy in shooting for the TV series Better Call Saul. In this series, he plays the role of a lawyer as well.
For his outstanding performance in this series, he has received the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Drama. Bob has also co-authored the Netflix original movie; “Girlfriend’s Day”. “Girlfriend’s Day” is Bob’s dream project. Bob has also made many guest appearances on many TV programs like Arrested Development, How I met your mother and Curb your Enthusiasm. Bob’s curb net worth is estimated to be around $4 million, however, he has not disclosed his salary as yet.
